Description

The SLCO2A1 gene encodes a protein believed to function as a lipid transporter, mainly for prostaglandin. It is suspected to have a triad of roles- the efflux of newly synthesized prostaglandins, the transepithelial transport of prostaglandins, as well as the clearance and degradation of prostaglandins.
