Sayeeda Hana has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biotechnology from Visvesvaraya Technological University. Her undergraduate research focused on the bioremediation of contaminated farmland using genetically altered bacterial strains. She then obtained a Master’s degree in the ‘Genetics of Human Disease’ from University College London, where she specialized in cardiovascular diseases. During her time at UCL, she worked at the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, researching the anti-atherosclerotic effects of several transcription factors.
Sayeeda joined the CAGS database team in 2016 as a part-time database curator and research assistant. Her current responsibilities include bibliographical research, creation of database entries and genetic analysis using bioinformatics tools.
