Asha is a Research Assistant and Database Curator at Centre for Arab Genomics Studies (CAGS). She graduated with an M. Res in biomedical sciences from University of Glasgow and additionally has a master’s degree in biomedical genetics from VIT, India. Specialised in molecular genetics, she has been part of multiple research projects in the UK and India.
Asha did her postgraduate training at the Wellcome Centre for Parasitology, Glasgow Biomedical Research Centre, where she worked on identifying markers for genetic mapping in Trypanosoma. She was also involved in an EU-wide study (IDEFICS) focused on understanding the key factors that contributed to obesity in children.
Asha moved to Dubai in 2016 and has been working part-time at CAGS.
